Get a Quick Start with a QuickStart

Not sure if websites and film-making is for you? Come along to one of our quick and easy QuickStart sessions and see what you think.

Sessions last just 2-3 hours and run every week, in small groups, so there's plenty of time for questions and one-to-one support with your work. 

Sessions are flexible and informal so there's no need to worry if you haven't a great deal of IT experience.

Regular sessions take place every Tuesday morning in the Communiversity, or if there's a group of you we can run sessions at your own centre as long as you have broadband internet access.

You don't have to complete all of the sessions, just join in on the ones that interest you. Choose from:

Web & Graphics

Set up your own website on the portal, get advice on designing your site, add pages and various types of content. After the session you'll be able to manage and update your site from any computer with internet access, as often or as little as you like.

Find out how to use affordable software to touch up your photos, and create custom graphics to liven up your site, such as logos and banners.

Video Production & Editing

Find out how to plan and shoot your first film, how to use affordable video cameras to best effect, discover simple camera techniques that can transform your home videos, and learn secret tips and tricks of the trade.

Now you've shot your first film, come back and find out how to edit it using free software, add captions and titles, prepare it for web and upload it to your site.
