 Welcome to Porchfield Community Centre
The Porchfield community Centre is a purpose built facility that was built as part of the Storrington Heys development. Five 1960’s high rise tower blocks that housed over 600 primarily elder residents were demolished and replaced by a mixed tenure housing development comprising of 62 sheltered flats, 68 extra care flats and a mix if 92 bungalows, houses and general needs apartments.

The site was developed in full consultation with the local residents who contributed to the design, internal specifications and layout of their new homes. They also requested that a fully accessible, modern community centre should be built as part of the development.

The centre was opened in 2001 as an adult centre for the elderly residents of Croxteth and Gillmoss, where they would deliver services, activities and events under the themes of Health, Education and Social Integration, with the aim of promoting independence, tackling isolation and the alleviation of loneliness amongst the elder residents of our communities.

We are a Registered Charity No: 1128331 and all monies raised are used for the upkeep of our centre an to subsidise the events and activities.

We can also provide room hire for gatherings of 10 to 70 people, including refreshments, hot or cold, visual aids and othe equipment at very competitive rates.
