The Communiversity is a Life Long Learning Centre run by the Alt Valley Community Trust. The Trust is an organisation run by local people that responds to the community, widening opportunity by creating vocational and Further Education programmes. The training enhances the individual’s skills preparing them for further education, higher education and employment.
The Alt-valley Trust regeneration programme has successfully increased inclusiveness and has expanded employment and training opportunities across the Alt Valley area.
The Trust provides free education and activities for people of all ages and abilities by offering a diverse range of subjects including:

Music Courses - with practical sessions taking place in our state-of-the-art recording studio

Dance and Drama – this department has a fantastic theatre/dance studio with wooden stage complete with lights, mirrored walls and dance training area.

ICT and Creative Media – offering qualifications recognised throughout Europe as well as workshops in film and photography

Vocational Courses – the Teaching Assistants’ course being our most successful so far; many former students have gained employment in local schools

Parenting Courses – advising and introducing Parents to simple techniques that have been proven to work time and again

Health Education and Activities – our Community Health Ambassadors are continuing to prove that Health and well-being can be fun, exciting and very enjoyable.

Basic and Key Skills- Numeric, Communication and ICT.
We are also a resource for local businesses;
Two large Conference Suites are available; both have wireless internet and disabled access and can hold up to 80-100 people.
Our reputation for our Catering continues to grow as we continue to provide healthy food in our Internet Café as well as events, meetings and conferences. There is also a crèche facility within the centre.
