I have been working as a freelance artist all my adult life - so bascially for 20 years - and in that time I have had six exhibitions of my artwork across the UK, from Preston to Hull, and have been commission for book covers, magazine illustrations, family portraits, band logos, nightclub banners, murals, children's play centres and all manner of various weird and wonderful things!

The Donks are original characters I created many years back. Rather than just illustrating some weird little monsters, I ran with the idea, as they say in DesignLand, and ended up devising storylines, puppets, videoclips and stop-motion work from them.

They ultimately evolved from an adult-themed splatsick horror comedy characters, to sanitised children's book characters.

They were deemed too creepy though to be mascots for Anglesea Zoo..... That's another story though!

As a struggling artist (minus the drafty garret) I combined my musical hobbies with my brush skills and set about customising leather jackets for people.

I no longer accept payment in pints though...
