Contestants
1. Age range is 8 years and over.
Children and young people under the age of 18:
i. must have their application form signed by a parent or guardian;
ii. must be accompanied by a responsible adult during the audition process and
performances.
Contestants aged 18 and over must bring ID showing date of birth to their audition.
2. Competitors must live, study, work or play in the Liverpool City Council
neighbourhood of Alt Valley which includes Clubmoor, County, Croxteth,
Fazakerley, Norris Green and Warbreck.
Entry Procedures
3. Any forms received after Monday 19th May 2008 will not be considered. Auditions
are awarded on a first come first served basis, therefore prompt action is
recommended. If you are unable to attend an audition please inform the ‘Events
Team’ so that another act can audition in your place.
4. Information about the content of the act must be detailed in the application form. You
must notify the ‘Events Team’ via the application form if you intend to:
i. Perform physical and/or potentially dangerous stunts, explaining the full nature
of your stunt
ii. Use any form of equipment required as part of your act. If the ‘Events Team’
accepts the act, you will be responsible for providing the necessary
equipment and ensuring it is safe and suitable for purpose.
iii. The ‘Events Team’ and ‘Judges’ reserve the right to refuse an act they deem
unsuitable for a family audience or equipment unsafe for use.
5. Animals cannot be included within acts.
6. All personal details and/or information given in your application either in this form or
otherwise must be truthful, accurate and in no way misleading. The ‘Events Team’
and ‘Judges’ reserve the right to disqualify you (and where appropriate your group)
if you have supplied untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or
information, have failed to abide by the rules and/or are in breach of the terms.
7. Those who do not follow the correct entry procedure can not be guaranteed an
opportunity to be seen by the judges at the auditions.
8. The completion of an application form does not guarantee that an applicant will be
successful. If the ‘Events Team’ decides to take your application to the next stage,
you will be invited by telephone, email or post to attend an audition.
Audition Process
9. Once registered, each act will be provided with an audition time, date and
venue. The 'Judges' cannot guarantee to see an act if they miss their allocated
audition slot on the day.
10. All entrants must ensure they would be free to attend all stages if successful.
· Auditions - Tuesday 27th - Friday 30th May (half term)
· Semi-final - Saturday 14th June
· Boot camp – Saturday 21st June
· Final – Sunday 22nd June
11. There are no changing room facilities available at the audition sites.
12. If successful, the same group or artist must perform at all rounds of the
competition. Substitutions can be made at the ‘Judges’ discretion in the case of
sickness, however the ‘Events Team’ must be notified before the event.
13. All competitors/coaches and supporters should remember that fair play and giving
all contestants the opportunity to develop their talent is at the heart of the
competition. If the ‘Judges’ or ‘Events Team’ feel anyone is working against this
ethic they will not be put through to the next round.
14. The ‘Judges’ decision is final. ‘Judges’ will not discuss decisions with participants,
their parents or representatives nor enter into correspondence.
15. ‘Judges’ may also give special awards to those with special or unusual talents.
16. Any disputes should be put in writing to ‘The Events Team’ at the address shown
below.
17. Auditions will be filmed and broadcast on the Alt Valley Vision website and other
platforms as identified by the ‘Events Team’. We do not guarantee that all acts will
be broadcast on the website.
18. If selected to audition, you consent that information provided in the application
form may be used by the ‘Events Team’ during the competition or otherwise.
19. You acknowledge and agree that the rules are subject to change at any time by
the ‘Events Team’ (whether in writing or verbally) and that you agree to be bound
by these rules. You acknowledge and agree that the ‘Judges’ decision shall be
final and binding upon you at all times.
Contributor Consent
20. By entering the competition you hereby agree to grant Alt Valley Vision (“the
Filmmaker”) the following rights in relation to our arranging to film and record the
contribution to be given by you ("the contribution"):
21. You agree to the recording and/or broadcasting and/or live relay of the contribution
and hereby grant to us all consents necessary to enable us to make the fullest use
of the contribution throughout the universe in perpetuity by any and all means in any
and all media, whether now known or hereafter developed or discovered, without
liability to you (save as specifically hereinafter provided). You hereby grant us the
right to issue publicity concerning the contribution and any materials in which it may
be included and for such purpose to use and reproduce your name and photograph
and recordings and/or copies of any description of the contribution.
22. In recognition of the needs of film and television production, we shall be entitled to
edit, copy, add to, take from, adapt or translate the contribution as we see fit and, in
respect of the contribution, you irrevocably waive the benefits of and agree not to
assert any provision of law known as "moral rights" or any similar laws of any
jurisdiction. We do not undertake to broadcast, exhibit and/or otherwise exploit the
contribution.
23. You warrant and undertake to us (a) that you are fully entitled to give the contribution
to us, (b) that nothing in the contribution (whether by way of inflection or gesture or
otherwise) will infringe the copyright or any other right of any person, breach any
contract or duty of confidence, constitute a contempt of court, be defamatory or be
calculated to bring any person or organisation into disrepute and (c) that all facts
expressed by you in the contribution are, to the best of your knowledge and belief,
true and insofar as the contribution contains any opinions, these opinions are your
own and are genuinely and truly held by you.
24. This agreement may be freely assigned or licensed by us. This agreement shall be
governed by and construed in accordance with English law.
25. You may opt out of these consents by writing to ‘The Events Team’ at the address
shown below.
Parental Consent
26. By signing the application form, you, the parent/carer/legal guardian of the named c
competitor, give specific permission for:
i. My child to participate in all elements of the Alt Valley’s Got Talent competition
ii. My child’s contribution to be uploaded to the Alt Valley Vision website in
photograph, video, audio or other format
iii. My child’s contribution to be used for promotional purposes in all media formats
and all broadcast platforms
iv. My child to be involved in press coverage with local newspapers, radio and/or
television
27. By signing the application form, you, the parent/carer/legal guardian of the named
competitor, agree to ensure your child is appropriately supervised by a responsible
adult for the entirety of their involvement in the competition and including all stages of
the competition.
28. Please note unsupervised children and young people under the age of 18 will not be
allowed entry to audition premises and will not be seen by judges.
29. You may opt out of these consents by writing to ‘The Events Team’ at the address
